We should all become movie makers now that we know that a one- minute and thirty-three second video can take hours (broken up into days) to piece together, right? In sum, this video-making experience was indeed very hands-on and experimental. It allowed me to look at technology yet again with a surprise. Oftentimes, we watch a video and recognize that there are real people behind the cameras who put in an abundant load of work to provide watchable content. But, in all honesty, how often do we think about how these people have done whatever they filmed live at some point, and that very captured moment is what became the content for the audience to watch? As I have selected to walk through a half artist space tour and half artistic process topic content, I realized that this video has now become that much memorable in that every image and video featured was from my own creations. I snapped and filmed each image or scene, individually. Through a process and elimination, I have added, cut out, inserted text, and more. It reminded me of exactly what we are taught in art. You know, the whole addition and subtraction of a work, whether it be in a drawing class with charcoal or a ceramics for a wheel throwing process. It all works the same when we try to apply the relatable concepts we learn along the way.
Challenges:
1. Audacity was probably one of the more difficult programs to work with, especially because the decimal size points that determined the size of the stat waves got confusing. I honestly tried to do my podcast in one take. Of course, that's everyone's dream... but that never really happens now, does it? So after the hundredth (most likely less, as I am being dramatic) time, it finally worked out with the copy and paste, cut, add, buttons. Aside from the layout looking kind of intimidating, it is an amazing program for a voiceover when later inserting the podcast through iMovie.
2. Lame Library
If you were new like me, after you try to save your podcast to an mp3 on the Audacity program, it may ask you to download a program called "Lame Library." Don't laugh at it, but you can. It's a real program! Download it, and then Audacity will let you save your podcast into an mp3 like a piece of cake in no time.
An additional pro:
iMovie is an excellent program to make movies on a Mac. That's all!
P.S. I'm seriously starting a Youtube channel for real soon.

Reflection:
I thought this assignment was beneficial in a fair amount of ways. Learning to use Prezi was one of the most difficult things to do from this project since I was so used to using PowerPoint.
Though Prezi is not a quick way to put information together, it is an effective resource to showcase information in an exciting way for students to engage towards. In fact, Prezi is quite interactive, professional, and tech-savvy. I believe that there is still so much to learn from the program. So for future reference, if time permits, I will try to use Prezi for a fun and interactive way to present information. But if time does not permit, I may reside to PowerPoint, as PowerPoint still has its benefits in adding games and other interactive resources that may look less tech-savvy.
What I loved most was making my own worksheet for the students to follow along in the class. Though this portion was not the most emphasized for the packaged assignment, I thought it was super exciting to actually design a personalized worksheet of my own in accordance to a presentation.
What I could work on is definitely my brochure of eight pages. I believe I have only about six to seven pages. Though each category was related to each point made in the Prezi presentation, I thought I could add more interactive hands-on activities other than writing and drawing next time.
This project definitely encourages future student teachers to be excited about forming their own lesson plans. It gives an idea of how lesson plans don’t always have to be structural and formal. Prezi can definitely add that spice.

Reflection:
This project was a good opportunity to explore the hands-on field in conjunction with technology. I really enjoyed making my mini diorama sets. I realized how much harder it was once I had to put a floor, wall, and corner walls up for each specific scene. It was a challenge in finding the right angle to set up the tripod, thinking about how to hide areas that were not a part of the setup. I had difficulty cropping in imovie because once pictures are taken in the same spot, cropping them may look out of proportion afterwards. Next time, I would try larger diorama sets and not limit myself to confined spaces. I had set boundaries this time due to time, so I was very much taking pictures likewise to a conventional box/rectangle viewfinder.
The message to this video was that the dinosaur eventually got a pair of eyes to take a good look at himself-to see that he is a somebody, and not a nobody.

How-to tutorial
I really liked this project because the content was left to us to be creative about. We were able to choose whichever media we wanted to work with and create this short how-to video. How-to videos are a great way for students to reaccess the material/supply list, steps, and visual content of a demonstration that has been done in class. iMovie is a an excellent tool to edit quick and tech-savvy videos in a limited amount of time. It allows you to fast-forward or slow a step down. There are so many gadgets and gizmos that iMovie has, that it ultimately has to marry a fancy Powerpoint or Prezi presentation-so you get the best of both worlds: an interactive presentation and a visual representation to go with it. I would love to do more of these how-to videos in the near future as it is an excellent way to remind students steps that they may have forgotten during the actual demonstration in class. It would also give them a chance to try their own creations using different kinds of media while still following the same steps.
